A Monefy-like mobile app would be useful to just add manual transactions that sync to your account. No need for settings and other features. If we want other features like budgeting or networth tracking, then just direct us to the website. I just want a quick way to add transactions when I use cash.

At the very least, can we make this a progressive web app so I can save the page on my phone? It's not as smooth when it fires up as a browser shortcut.

Lunch Money will never be a viable alternative to YNAB without a mobile app. I will consider switching to Lunch that time.

TBH I initially thought this was a show-stopper. But after trying out the web version in my phone, I changed my mind.
I don't think there's much value in having a native app, since all I want to do on mobile is be able to add a new transaction on the go (so that I don't forget it later). And doing so in the web version via mobile, is pretty fine, so much that it can't justify the developer cost needed to build and maintain a native mobile app.

One comment I'd like to add when planning out a native mobile app, whenever it may come, is PLEASE design this with iPad support and an iPad interface in mind.
There have been some great finance apps that never built support for iPad and it's caused me never to adopt them long-term. Quick reference or categorization is great on a phone, but it's so much quicker and a better experience overall when there is a tailored iPad or tablet interface.

Hi Jen, just as a collaboration I'm a frontend dev, maybe this tool can help you out on the development of the mobile approach
It's a tool that you add to your current project and help you out with a lot of native functionality, basically use web technology to make the mobile version. Maybe it helps you to speed forward the mobile development

Yes please... We need native mobile app for fast transaction input on the go, please don't just wrap the web app.
Thanks!

Hi everyone– thanks for voting on this feature! As a small, bootstrapped team, it's difficult to find the resources and time to provide an official native mobile app while also maintaining the high standards of quality we have for our web app. However, I'm thankful for the growing developer ecosystem and all the wonderful projects & extensions that have popped up in the last few months.
In case you missed it, Lunch Money users, Tulio and Darin, have launched the first unofficial iOS companion app for Lunch Money with the following features:
💳 Directly export Apple Card transactions into Lunch Money
✏️ Quickly add new transactions or update existing ones
✅ Review transactions on the go
🌙 Dark mode is supported
Download it here (iOS only): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/snack-change/id1557614640

Jen from Lunch Money: Totally understand being a small team but you should consider looking at Flutter for a web/mobile all-in-one solution. :)

I love the fact that its only a web app. Makes me more mindful about my weekly finance meetings with my wife. We both pull up lunch money on the big screen, get some coffee and crunch some numbers :)
