For imported transactions, we now offer an improved autocategorization set-up (this deprecates what was previously known as "smart categories").

When transactions are imported, they are pre-assigned a category within Plaid's own taxonomy. Ensure all your transactions arrive categorized by mapping your own categories to these predefined ones.

Note: Auto-categorizations are run before rules. This means that any applicable rules that update the category will overwrite your auto-categorizations.

We've improved the experience when relinking to your bank with some helpful tips on how to not lose connection to accounts, causing an 'inactive' or 'not found' state. We've also implemented a way to immediately merge synced accounts when duplicates are detected.
